I design all my video Titles in Adobe After Effects. For the uninitiated, this is a powerful program used to create motion graphics and visual effects for film and video. It is also used in a variety of contexts, including broadcast graphics, music videos, feature films, video rotoscoping, corporate presentations, and conferences. Using a combination of timelines and key-frames, and some heavy math, it can even turn a dull graphic into molten lava or create meteor showers out of thin air.
Now I have reached an advanced level where I seamlessly incorporate JavaScript "expressions" to create spectacular 3D animations and effects. My favorite workflow is building my compositions in After Effects and then importing into Premiere Pro where I lay down tracks, make cuts, transitions, and edit sound all the way to final output.
One big advantage is that in After Effects the composition can be modified, and after switching back to Premiere Pro, the clip will immediately update with the changes. These two programs work well hand-in-hand and integrate beautifully. As industry leading tools, they are essential to the success of all my projects.
I love to produce great-looking animations quickly using hundreds of fully customizable animation presets, including presets for animating text, transitions, effects, backgrounds, and behaviors. I can also use the included project templates for DVD motion menus and motion graphic backgrounds.
